The Defense Force!
Gino is king of leader of the defense force! Some things you all might want to know:
The wiki page is here. It contains all sorts of info about what the DF does, who's in it, etc.
When you join the DF, please assume the following:
-The day after you asked, Gino accepted you. Gino will only thread out the conversation if you are rejected or if you OOCly request it for some reason.
-When he contacted you to accept you, he arranged to give you your weapon.
-He told you about the HQ (or showed it to you) and about the watch list.
-He arranged for you to get weapon training if you need it.
-He scheduled you into the DF's daily tasks.
-Daily tasks include patrolling around the dome and guarding the HQ.
-Work load is probably something like 2-4 hours every other day, by default. Of course sometimes there are emergencies; those don't count. ICly you can opt for more shifts if you want, and of course if you notify Gino you can get out of a shift if you need to.
-The watch list is readily available to DF members, so if you get cuddly with Road and act like no one told you that she was dangerous, you will get called out on it ICly.
-Your character should probably have some basic familiarity with other DF members: you don't need to assume you're Buffy's best friend if you've never talked to her, but you shouldn't end up not knowing anyone on the DF. You've heard them over the network, maybe seen them around.
-Please help out OOCly: if you see a thread or a log where someone is getting hurt, contact the players and ask if a defense team member is involved or if there's a reason the DF can't help out. If you're plotting a thread or a log like this, ask about how the DF might be involved or why not. I can't be everywhere, and sometimes players forget that the DF has the means to find out about fighting.
Believe me, I love you all and I'd love to play this out with you, but the DF gets new people all the time, so I can't do this every single week. It helps me worlds if you'd assume these things happen without me having to copy-paste it!
And just because I'm not logging it out by default doesn't mean you can't make special arrangements -- for instance, if you want to play out a DF member getting weapons lessons, make an OOC post to recruit a teacher, or ask me who'd be teaching them! If you want to play out Gino giving your character a tour of the headquarters because they have something to say to him, then go ahead and talk to me! Have fun with it. ♥
